One possible etiology for cancer can be personality characteristics of individuals. The aim of this study was compare personality traits of breast cancer and lymphoma patients with healthy people. Methods: Ninety patients with breast cancer and lymphoma who referred to a cancer treatment center and oncology clinics, aged 18-50 years with at least secondary school level of education, enrolled in this study (case group). Exclusion criteria were psychologic disorders in the last year, history of admission in hospital due to pschologic disorders in the last year, epilepsy, brain tumors and brain metastases. Demographic data was recorded and the NEO Five factor Inventory was completed by patients. In addition, the questionnaire was completed by 90 age, gender and educational level-matched subjects from the patients’ relatives (control group). Data were statistically analyzed. Results: 93.3% of cases and 85.5% of controls were women. Mean scores of extraversion (P < 0.001) and openness to experience (P < 0.001) were significantly lower and conscientiousness (P = 0.018) was significantly higher in cancer patients compared to controls. The mean score of neuroticism and agreeableness was not significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: It is likely that introversion, conscientiousness and lack of openness to experiences leads to experiencing more stress and tension and can be considered as underlying causes of cancer. Training the proper ways to deal with stress and problem solving, and training communication skills may be useful in preventing and fighting against cancer.}, keywords = {Neoplasms,Personality,Personality Inventory}, title_fa = {مقایسه‌ی ویژگی‌های شخصیتی بیماران مبتلا به سرطان های پستان و لنفوم با افراد سالم}, abstract_fa = {پیش‌زمینه: در علت‌شناسی سرطان موارد مختلفی مطرح شده است. یکی از علل مطرح شده در ایجاد سرطان، ویژگی های شخصیتی افراد مبتلا به این بیماری است. لذا هدف از این مطالعه، مقایسه ویژگی‌های شخصیتی بیماران مبتلا به سرطان های پستان و لنفوم با افراد سالم بود. روش‌ها: 90 بیمار مبتلا به سرطان پستان و لنفوم مراجعه کننده به یک مرکز درمانی سرطان در مشهد و درمانگاه‌های انکولوژی، با سن 18 تا 50 سال با حداقل سواد ششم ابتدایی وارد این مطالعه شدند (گروه مورد). معیارهای خروج شامل ابتلا به بیماری روانپزشکی در یک سال گذشته، بستری در بخش روانپزشکی در یک سال گذشته، صرع، تومورهای مغزی و متاستازهای مغزی بود. پس از ثبت مشخصات فردی، پرسشنامه سنجش شخصیت 5 عاملی NEO توسط بیماران تکمیل شد. سپس این پرسشنامه‌ توسط 90  فرد سالم از خانواده‌ی بیماران که از نظر سن، جنس و میزان تحصیلات مشابه آنها بودند تکمیل گردید (گروه شاهد). یافته ها مورد تجزیه و تحلیل آماری قرار گرفت. یافته‌ها: 93.3% از گروه مورد و 85.5% گروه کنترل را زنان تشکیل می‌دادند. میانگین امتیازات برون گرایی (0.001 > P)، انعطاف پذیری به تجارب (0.001 > P) در گروه مورد نسبت به گروه شاهد به طور معنی‌داری پایین‌تر و امتیاز با وجدان بودن (0.018 = P) به طور معنی‌داری بالاتر بود. امتیاز روان‌نژندی و موافقت پذیری بین دو گروه تفاوت معنی داری نشان نداد. نتیجه‌گیری: احتمال دارد درون گرایی، باوجدان‌بودن و عدم انعطاف‌پذیری منجر به تجربه استرس و تنش بیشتر و زمینه‌ساز ایجاد سرطان باشد. آموزش شیوه‌های صحیح مقابله با تنش و حل مسئله و آموزش مهارت‌های ارتباطی مؤثر ممکن است در پیشگیری و مبارزه با سرطان مفید باشد.}, keywords_fa = {سرطان,شخصیت,پرسش‌نامه شخصیت}, url = {https://jmmc.mums.ac.ir/article_2948.html}, eprint = {https://jmmc.mums.ac.ir/article_2948_92d93aa62ea4a3471346a3425300ea5a.pdf} }
